How long does the restoration last?
With the UV sealant we apply, most folks get 1 to 2 years before the haze starts coming back. Without sealant, the lenses re-yellow in about 6 months. The sealant is the part that makes this worth doing.
Will it work on really cloudy or cracked lenses?
Heavy oxidation and cloudiness, yes. Internal moisture or cracked lenses, no — those need to be replaced. If you're not sure, send us a photo when you book and we'll tell you straight.
Why not just do this myself with a kit from the parts store?
You can. The parts-store kits work for a few months, then the haze comes back because the kits skip the higher grits and don't include a real UV sealant. The reason ours lasts is the prep and the sealant — that's the whole job.
Can you do this as part of a full detail?
